University of Idaho LiBS 427 Teacher Librarian Practicum Internship
Hi everyone. My name is Karine Parry and I am the school library intern for The Jerome High School Evelyn Crowder Memorial Library spring 2021. I have a Master’s degree in Management of Library and Information Science (MMLIS) from the University of Southern California, a Master’s degree in Natural Resources (MNR) from Oregon State University, a certificate in Strategic Management of Digital Assets and Services (DAS) from San Jose State University, a certificate in Geographic Information Science (GIS) from Oregon State University and a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Literature’s in English from UC San Diego. Currently, I am working towards a certificate in teaching for secondary education and a Teacher Librarian endorsement for the State of Idaho, through the University of Idaho (U of I). I have been in the library field for more than 4 years, working or volunteering for public, academic, special and school libraries. In my spare time, I enjoy running, riding my bike, and caring for my two cats. I am currently training for the Abbott Virgin Money London marathon 2021. The book talks and read aloud you view below will introduce you to some of the popular titles you may have heard of, as well as resources that may be found on your English required reading lists. As part of endorsement requirements, the U of I requires you to complete a library practicum internship at a secondary institution, if this is the teaching track you are on. Jerome High School is my location placement. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to intern with such great students, teachers and a teacher librarian!
